My wife and I moved to Rutland, Vermont in 1995, where both of my sons were born. My family now resides in Vermont’s Northeast Kingdom. Having been raised in small town communities, my wife and I moved to St. Johnsbury, Vermont, 13 years ago in order to raise our children in a neighborly community, with its general stores, main street activities, small school setting, and outdoor adventures. I have coached both youth baseball and basketball for many years. Within the past few years we have participated in the youth track program. A few years ago I started a noon time Chess Club at the St. Johnsbury School, and have attended most of the school field trips with my two sons.
I really believe that practicing law is a service based occupation, where I help address and resolve criminal and civil problems encountered by my clients. I understand that there are individual people behind each particular problem who may have certain levels of anxiety and concern over the conflict that these issues present. Through preparation, critical thinking, aggressive lawyering, communication, and navigation through the system, I take the burden off my clients and help achieve their goals and resolve their conflicts.
From an early age I have loved the law. My father worked in the highest court in New York State for 30 years. He would sneak me and my siblings into the courtroom after fireworks in downtown Albany on July 4th, and regale us with tales of the “majesty of law”. I am grateful for the opportunities my former law partners have afforded me, but I am excited my life’s journey has reached the point where I can go on my own and practice directly for my clients. I thank my loving wife Laura for all her support, and the wonderful perspective my boys Cam and Zach provide me each and every day.
